Affordable Virginia Urges Rep. Kiggans to Stand by Her Word and Support the ACA Discharge Petition

Virginia Beach, VA – As families prepare for the holiday season, many may be planning smaller celebrations after seeing their health insurance premiums skyrocket. Those premiums won’t be coming back down if health care tax credits are not extended. To force a vote on the tax credits, Minority Leader Jeffries has started a discharge petition for a floor vote on extending the credits for three more years.

“Families rely on these tax credits, and after claiming to want to extend credits for another year, Rep. Kiggans should be among the first to sign on to this petition,” said Emily Yeatts, Affordable Virginia Campaigns Director. “We have heard from families across Hampton Roads who are reeling after seeing what their insurance premiums will cost without these health care tax credits. With over 30,000 constituents who rely on them, we are urging Rep. Kiggans to stand by her word and sign this discharge petition to bring costs down for working families.”
