Rep. Kiggans Votes Against the Best Interest of Her Constituents, Again
Rising Insurance Premiums Combined with Loss of Tax Credits Results in More Virginians Without Health Care
Virginia Beach, VA – Today, Rep. Jen Kiggans voted for a resolution to continue harmful health care cuts, which will severely impact over 14,000 constituents in her district.
“After stating her support for Medicaid, and asking leadership not to include cuts in a budget earlier this year, Rep. Jen Kiggans went on to vote for that budget and the very things she claimed to oppose,” said Emily Yeatts, Affordable Virginia Campaigns Director. “This wasn’t a surprise. We know that despite what she says, she often does the opposite, and unfortunately, it’s only her constituents who suffer. We know that insurance premiums are only going up, and this vote hangs working Virginians out to dry. Rep. Kiggans, do better. We demand that Rep. Kiggans reverse her dangerous cuts to health care by funding Medicaid and making the health care tax credits permanent.”
